3 Things I learned about High Cholesterol Empty 3 Things I learned about High Cholesterol

From the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) I learned that the factors that affect cholesterol are diet, weight, physical activity, age, gender, and heredity (https://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/health/resources/heart/heart-cholesterol-hbc-what-html).
The Center for Disease Control and Prevention shared these two facts, that cholesterol is "a waxy, fat-like substance that travels through the blood on proteins called lipproteins" (https://www.cdc.gov/cholesterol/about.htm 2015). Cholesterol is an important part of our health as it is used for multiple functions such as making hormones. It is when cholesterol builds up in the blood vessels that we see issues arise that can lead to heart attacks (https://www.cdc.gov/cholesterol/about.htm 2015).
